This course is designed to provide a “refresher” on the protocols involved in hair specimen collection. Over time, laboratories adjust policies and procedures necessary for specimen collection and it is important that collectors stay up-to-date on these changes to avoid errors in the collection process. While the concept of chain of custody does not change, the methods utilized in the collection process to prevent a breach of the chain of custody do change over time as laboratories, collectors, and industry professionals learn new methodologies and tactics to combat intentional and unintentional chain of custody violations.

If you require all aspects of training and not just the refresher training, you will need to register for the full Hair Specimen Collector Course.

Upon registration, students are directed to review the updated hair specimen collection procedures and then schedule mocks at a time that is convenient for them. Appointments for mocks are typically available within 24 hours of registration and are conducted via webcam through a teleconferencing tool. Please feel free to reach out to our team with any questions or concerns.
